Book the party of a lifetime for your hen or stag night
The River Run cruise is one of the most popular hen and stag night activities in Athlone. It includes a fun-filled 90 minute sailing, with a bar, light refreshments and a DJ on board.
With a fully licensed bar and delicious cocktails, you’ll have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The cost is only €17 per person and the cruises leave every Saturday at the following times:
- 2.30pm – 4.00pm
- 4.30pm – 6.00pm
- 6.30pm – 8.00pm
- 8.30pm – 10.00pm

Booking hen & stag parties
All hen and stag parties must be booked prior to arriving at the dock.
Bookings for all hen and stag parties must be made by calling us on 
071 962 1777 or email us on 
info@theriverrun.ie.
You can make a provisional booking for your party and pay the deposit 6 weeks prior to your cruise.
The rest of the payment can be made on the day with a cash transaction or by calling our office to pay with a credit or debit card before you arrive.
10 days before your trip we’ll email or call you to finalise the numbers for your party!
When to arrive and where to go
We ask that you ensure that you and your entire party are at the boat 15 minutes before your booking time. This will help us make sure that we get everybody on board on time and you can enjoy the full extent of your cruise.
If you or one of your party members is late for the cruise (past the booking time) then it will depart without them and a refund will not be possible.
If your group is delayed for any reason and you feel you won’t be able to make the boarding time then call us in advance and we’ll do our very best to reschedule your group.
The River Run cruiser leaves from the back of Athlone Castle. If you need any help navigating the area don’t hesitate to give us a call or an email and we can send you on directions.
While onboard river run?
We accept cash, credit and debit cards onboard.
As we have a bar onboard no outside alcohol is permitted on River Run and it will be confiscated.
It’s also important to note that those who arrive heavily under the influence will not be able to board the boat due to strict health and safety reasons.
